Don't forget that Anne Canadeo, author of the Black Sheep knitting mysteries, will be here on Friday, June 22 at 7:00 PM. Anne's latest book, Till Death Do Us Purl, is the fourth in this wonderful series, which features Black Sheep Knitting Shop owner Maggie Messina and her yarn (and mystery) obsessed group of friends. After helping Rebecca Bailey finish her custom knitted wedding dress in time for her big day, moved forward at the request of Rebecca's future father-in-law, the Black Sheep knitters are horrified to hear that the handsome young groom has been killed in an explosion just 2 days after the wedding. They quickly realize that something is amiss and set out to untangle a skein of secrets and betrayal.

Author Anne Canadeo lives on Long Island and also writes the Thomas Kinkade series under the name Katherine Spencer. We are honored to have her visiting our library. Although she will not be selling her books as I originally thought (we have them all in the library, though!), she will GIVING away several books during the program! We will be handing out tickets for chances to win one of the free books at the door. Because this program is being held after hours, doors will open to the public between 6:30 and 6:45. Please call 860-627-1495 to register. If you love knitting or cozy mysteries, you won't want to miss this!

Windsor Locks Public Library has created a QR code for our PROGRAMS page.  What this means is that you can instantly access information about any upcoming programs and events at our library using your iPad, iPod touch, iPhone, etc.  The code will be included on most of our upcoming posters, so if you are wondering what else might be going on and you have wireless access,  just scan the code (you can download a QR code scanner for free!) and instantly access our programs page.  If you don't have a scanning device, don't worry.  Just visit and click on PROGRAMS.

If you weren't here at the library last night (June 11) you missed a terrific presentation by Laura Bradford, author of a new Amish cozy mystery series. The first installment in the series was published on June 5 and it promises to be a big hit, if audience reaction is any indication. We hope that Laura will be back here at Windsor Locks Public Library in the spring when the second book in her new series is published. Writing as Elizabeth Lynn Casey, she is also the author of the Southern Sewing Circle mystery series. All of her mysteries are available here at Windsor Locks Public Library. Check them out!

Speaking of mysteries, don't forget that author Anne Canadeo will also be here on Friday, June 22, at 7 PM to introduce readers to her Black Sheep knitting mysteries. Doors will open at 6:45 for this special evening. Cozy lovers and knitters alike will be interested in meeting Anne!
