Regular Saturday hours (10 AM - 5 PM) will resume on September 8.  Please check our calendar at http://www.eventkeeper.com/code/events.cfm?curOrg=WLOCKS for information on all of our upcoming programs for Fall.  We have several authors, programs on global warming and the Titanic, a chef, presentations on black bears, bee keeping, and identity theft, book clubs, story times, kids' crafts, a book sale, and more.  Check it out!

Our annual adult summer reading program, Home Grown Reading, ends this week!  You still have time to enter your titles to win our grand prize, a Cannon Elph Digital Camera.  The grand prize entry will be drawn on Monday, August 27 from all of the entries submitted this summer.  Good luck!

We will be closed Saturday, September 1 through Monday, September 3 for Labor Day weekend.  The book drop will be available, but we would appreciate it if you would not return items in the drop unless absolutely necessary since there is a limited amount of space.  Please do not leave unsecured items in or around the bookdrop if it is full.  You will be responsible for any items lost or damaged.  Nothing is due on these dates anyways, so stay home, have a cookout, and worry about returning your library materials when we reopen on Tuesday, September 4!  Have a safe holiday!

There will be a jazz quartet performing on the library lawn on Thursday, August 30 starting at 6:30 PM.  What a perfect way to end the summer, and it's free!  Just bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the music.

We have subscribed to Consumer Reports online!  You can access this great database from the library or from your home PC  by clicking on the Consumer Reports icon on our home page at www.windsorlockslibrary.org.  We are still waiting for confirmation that the database should be working correctly for both remote and in-library access, so please be patient if you run into any problems and please let me know by emailing me at epearce@libraryconnection.info!   Any residual problems should be fixed by early next week.  Let us know what you think!
